The Akina-Ancog family joined me at Kamaole Point to take their family pictures in December. This long stretch of beach that runs all long the coastline of South Maui is very important to the history of their family, so it was special that we could take their family pictures there.
Hi, I'm Danette He'itukutonga. I am a photographer, business owner and the mother of a big Caucasian/Polynesian family. We have homes in Maui, Idaho and Tonga. We run several businesses that keep us very busy, have several hapa kids and have now added grandkids to that mix. We love life and try to make the most of every day and every opportunity that comes our way.

Maui Family Portrait Photography, Hawaii Family Portrait Photography, Latter-day Saint Maui Family Portrait Photography, Portraits at Keawekapu Beach
I love my friend Rachael. She and I both love photography, the Gospel, family. She is as sweet as she is beautiful. This year, she asked me along to take her family pictures. Fun!! I was there of course. She's going to help me get that allusive family photo I want of all of my bunch, as soon as all these holidays settle down.

Maui Family Portrait Photography, Hawaii Family Portrait Photography, Latter-day Saint Maui Family Portrait Photography, Portraits at Maluaka Beach
I have a few really favorite families, and this family is one of them. To know the mom is to be so lucky. She is just a blessing in all of our lives. I told her that being out there on the beach that morning, with her family, was like being around pure sunshine, and it wasn't just because we were out there on the beach on a sunny day. No it was much more than that. Julie is pure joy, and her boys take right after her. Brian, we love him too. He is the neatest guy, with the greatest personality. They definitely have the life everyone would want, raising three fantastic boys in paradise.
Uh OH!! I think we wore out Mom and Dad.

Maui Sports Portrait Photography - Football - Maui High School Photography - Old Maui High, Paia, Maui, Hawaii - Maui Portrait Photography
My son, Sione is a Freshman at Maui High this year. He had his Homecoming and last football game yesterday. We took him up to the Old Maui High ruins that morning, to shoot his Freshman football pics and had a blast. This is one of my favorite places on the island. It used to be overgrown with weeds and graffiti and was a cool place then. They remodeled it, and now it is even better. It is so peaceful up there. I still miss my cattle ranch/farming upbringing, where no one would be around for miles. I have never gotten used to having so many people around; so when I go up there, my spirit just sings, it's so happy.

Fun Things Ahead!! Family Portrait Photography, Maui Family Portrait Photography, Hawaii Family Portrait Photography, Maui Model Photography, Hawaii Model Photography
I'm really, really looking forward to the next two weekends. I have some family photo shoots planned, that I'm really looking forward to; and because we are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we also get to attend some meetings that I look forward to all year long. Family means everything to me, and I'm so glad when I get to spend quality time with them, doing things we love. This is the start of our family's holiday season!! From all of us to all of year - Yeah for Fall and the Upcoming Holidays!!

Morgan, Maui Senior Portrait Photography, Maui Family Portrait Photography, Maui Portrait Photography, Kamaole Point, Maui, Hawaii
I have a new blog attached to my website, so I can separate the personal from the professional, but I haven't had a chance to sit down and even review the specifications of it yet, let alone learn how to work it. I'll be doing that later this week; for now, I'll just post these images up here. This is Morgan's senior portraits. We had a blast, and one of the most beautiful sunsets you can imagine.

What Is It Like On a Photo Shoot?
Here is a quick image taken to test the light and settings on the camera, as the girls and I came up over the hill on a recent photo shoot. The sun set and exploded color across the sky!! We have been having the most beautiful sunsets I've seen since living here. I've been told conditions are right for those sunsets to continue for awhile. If you would like to schedule a portrait session with me, give me a call at (808) 357-2789. I will be happy to schedule you into a date while you are here on Maui.
My Makeleta, Maui Portrait Photography, Maui Family Portrait Photography, Maui Modeling Images, Polynesian Portraits
My Mari turns 11 this month. Everyone is fascinated by her unique beauty. She is sweet and kind, as well as beautiful. She's part Tongan, meaning part Polynesian and part Scottish, so - Oh boy - there is that side to her that means don't cross her or make her mad!! She is learning that she is a fantastic writer, an amazing cook. She is a stunning actress and sings beautifully. She keeps life very interesting, and we love her to death! - P.S. She's also the romantic peeping tom from the post below this one! :)
