The He Family Portraits for 2014 - Mai Poina 'Oe Ia'u Beach and Sunset Beach, Maui, Hawaii, Family Portrait Photography, Maui Family Portrait Photography, Latter-day Saint Maui, Hawaii Family Portrait Photography.

I've been working on our 2014 family portraits.  I meant to get them done last year, but I didn't.  A new grand baby in December and a few other things had me skipping a year in taking our family photos, but they are done for this year.  I love having a trail of images back to when my children were little.  It's a very precious treasure to have that to be able to look at as they grow and change and move on, leave, create grand babies - life keeps moving on!!

In Honor of the Rain!! - Maui Portrait Photography, Maui Landscape Photography, Maui Family Portrait Photography, Hawaii Family Portrait Photography

In honor of tonight's torrential rains, which will bring more glorious sunsets but kept us from our nightly walk, I am posting a few of the images from other nightly walks this week, appropriately called, Sunset Beach.  There are a lot of walking beaches on Maui, happily, so we won't get bored.

Went walking with Ne on Wednesday night...

And Makeleta's sunset on Thursday night.

Here's one extra one from last Saturday.

We hope God keeps these gorgeous sunsets coming, because we are having a lot of fun and getting exercise at the same time!  How cool is that!

Spring has Arrived on Maui, and She is Beautiful!! - Maui Portrait Photography, Maui Landscape Photography, Maui Botanical Photography, Maui Family Portrait Photography, Hawaii Family Portrait Photography

Springtime has arrived on Maui, and she has been gorgeous.  We have had wonderful, exceptional weather that brought beautiful flowers, lots of greenery, clouds like those in this first image, that bring beautiful sunsets and lots and lots of rainbows!!

Since the sunsets have been so fabulous, and I've been trying to get family pictures, Ne Ne, my youngest and I decided we would head out for a walk at sunset and see what the sky looked like, just scoping out our options for our portraits the following Monday.  The sky was different, but kind of cool.  We liked the big storm cloud hanging over us, and captured this image.

My Ne can rock a photo shoot, even in her brother's basketball shorts and a scruffy old t-shirt.

Yesterday morning, I took the kids to school, came back and looked up as I got out of the car and could not believe what I saw.  I knew it had to be over the beach, so I grabbed the landscape camera and its assigned lens and headed down to the beach for my morning walk, where I captured this image.

This morning the kids were late catching the bus again, so I shooed them out the door to the car and realized the same fine mist was in the air that was in the air yesterday morning.  I said to the kids, head still in the hallway, "There's no rainbow up in the sky, is there?"  "There is!"  they said!  Unbelievable!!!  So we went down to the beach each and captured these images this morning!

Happy Mother's Day - Sugar Beach, Maui, Hawaii, Maui, Hawaii, Family Portrait Photography, Maui Family Portrait Photography, Latter-day Saint Maui, Hawaii Family Portrait Photography.

Happy Mother's Day Weekend to Everyone!!  I am spending the weekend editing some images of my girls that I took as part of an on-going series I have been working on, about Polynesian women.  My girls are growing up so fast.  My whole family is, and it keeps growing and growing.  We added another member just yesterday.  I love that I get to document it all in photographs.

Makeleta greets the morning sun as he rises in the East.

Sela says aloha to the setting sun!!

Steve and Meredith - Secret Beach, Makena, Maui, Hawaii, Maui, Hawaii, Family Portrait Photography, Maui Family Portrait Photography, Latter-day Saint Maui, Hawaii Family Portrait Photography.

Secret Beach is one of the most popular beaches for romantic photography in the world, and so Steve and Meredith contacted me to have their portraits taken there, during their vacation to Maui.  It is called Secret Beach, because the access to it is a little secret division in a sea wall.  You have to know what you are looking for to find it, but it is not such a big secret anymore.  Call me up if you want to have pictures taken while you are vacationing on the island of Maui, and I will take you there and show you what I mean.  It will make you laugh, I guarantee it, but then you will be overwhelmed with the beauty of this little beach that is caught between two properties.  It is an amazing place - like looking through a window into Paradise.  After you have gazed about for a bit, we'll take your picture, and you will have a wonderful souvenir of your time with us on the lovely island of Maui!

Kihei Big Boy Football League 2014 Images, Sports Photography, Maui Hawaii Sports Photography

These are the best of the images from the April games and the May 3rd games.   All of the images may be used by the parents of the boys, for their own personal use.  (If you are not related to the players, please just look and don't download them.)  Family and friends of the players are free to download the images.  They will print, download to social media and anything else you might like to do with them.  Rights of resale still belong to DH Maui Fine Art Photography, which basically means they are not for commercial use.  These are just some of my favorites from the ones that were taken.  The entire batch of photos that were taken from the games can be found on my Facebook page.  They too have been set up so that the parents can download them.  Type in "DH Maui Fine Art Photography," once you are on Facebook, and the gallery will be available for viewing.  Sione got hurt at last week's game, so I'm not sure what game we will be at next.  I hear you will be playing in the stadium!!  Have fun, play fair and be safe.
