Maui Senior Portrait Photography - Old Maui High, Paia, Maui, Hawaii - Maui Portrait Photography

Day 20 of Our Tour of Maui, Hawaii - Baldwin Beach State Park - Paia, Maui, Hawaii...Maui - Maui Hawaii Landscape Photography, Maui Hawaii Portrait Photography

 Baldwin Beach State Park is an excellent stretch of beach that lies above Kanaha Beach and stretches up toward Paia Town along the coastline of Central Maui, facing Kahului Bay.  It is conveniently located, and easy to find as you follow the Hana Highway, just before you get to Paia.

It lies not far below the wild acting waters of Ho'okipa, so it provides good waves for boogie boarders, paddle boarders and windsurfers.

It's a great beach to take the kids and spend the day.  My son, Sione (see own a) decided to take a walk on the beach in the early morning.  It's a fantastic way to spend the morning hours, don't you think?

I took several photos that I love on that day, of my oldest son and his little sister.  Danae adores her oldest brother and he is always a safe place for her to go to.

The best way to learn to surf is to learn on your brother's back.

Are you on your way to Maui soon?  The airplanes fly over Baldwin Beach on their way into the airport.

The lifeguard shack completely captured my attention.  I knew exactly how I wanted the shots to look and how I would develop them when I got them back to the computer.  HDR treatments, that is a high definition treatment added to the photo, can bring out your images in a way that really pops and makes a photograph look like art, but then a photograph, but then art.  I love the look of HDR.  It is best used when the light is low, but here it was used on photographs taken as we are approaching noon.

The girls did a little bit of modeling for me that day.
